Losing weight is very exciting! Grind everyday, avoid temptations, workout, and the reward is watching the scale drop every week! The same amount of work goes into maintaining weight but the scale stays the same. It’s much less exciting. However, this process is important in regards to health and body composition. 

While maintaining weight calories are increased and there is more variety in diet. It is easier to consume essential vitamins and minerals on a daily basis. It is also easier to consume enough protein. Protein and sleep are important for the body to repair after a hard training session. This is where body composition changes take place. Focus on fueling the body and training hard. 

Focus on the following:

  • Energy levels

  • Mood

  • Lift heavier weights

  • Improve fitness test results

  • Run faster

Some people see weight increase to the starting weight or even higher after a hard dieting phase. Maintaining weight is a challenge so celebrate every week the scale stays the same! Enjoy the process and be thankful for everything your body does for you. ❤️
